Restocking runs on two facts: what you have and what you’re about to run out of. POM knows both — stock deducts itself as techs log usage, and low-stock views show what’s running down by location. Heritage ordering is built in; the inventory API connects everything else.
Ordering that starts from what’s actually on the truck
Heritage Distribution: built in, no code
If you buy from Heritage, the integration is already in POM: search their catalogue inside the app, place orders without leaving the page, and watch order status flow back automatically — with your markup applied as prices sync. It turns restocking into part of the same system that counts the stock and bills the customer.
Every other supplier: the inventory API
For distributors without a built-in connection, the API exposes what a purchasing workflow needs:
- What you have:
infiniteInventoryItemslists items with quantities by location, filterable by category and low-stock status. - What arrived:
updateInventoryItemadjusts quantities (with notes) as orders are received;createInventoryItemadds new SKUs with cost, price, and location. - Where it goes:
transferInventorymoves received stock from the warehouse onto trucks, keeping every location’s count honest.
The purchasing loop
Close the loop on restocking
Low stock → order list
A scheduled job reads low-stock items by location and drafts the week’s order — or drops it into your supplier’s cart format.
Order received → counts updated
When the delivery lands, received quantities post back through the API with a note tying them to the PO.
Warehouse → trucks
Transfers put Monday’s restock on the right trucks, recorded — so the counts your techs see are real.
Why counts-first ordering beats calendar ordering
Ordering “every other Tuesday” over-buys slow items and still runs out of fast ones. Ordering from live counts — what each truck actually used, deducted at the visit — buys what the routes consumed. Because every dose and part is logged to a customer and date, you can also see usage trends per item before committing to bulk pricing.

BIG PICTURE
Buy from Heritage?
The integration is included — we’ll switch it on with you and walk the catalogue flow. 614-710-0074.
A concrete example
Friday afternoon, a job reads every item flagged low-stock across the warehouse and four trucks, groups them by supplier, and emails purchasing a ready-to-place order list. Monday, receiving posts the delivered quantities back and transfers each truck’s share. Nobody counted anything by hand, and no truck starts the week short.
What a POM customer built
One company’s warehouse manager already ran inventory from a spreadsheet and didn’t want to give it up. They moved it to a Google Sheet and connected it to POM through the API. The sheet now cross-references what was ordered against what was received.
The honest details
Heritage is the only supplier with in-app catalogue ordering today — other distributors connect through the API pattern above, not a storefront inside POM. The API doesn’t currently model purchase orders as first-class records; quantity updates with notes carry the receiving trail. No webhooks yet, so low-stock checks run on your schedule.

FAQ
Supplier questions
Can I order pool chemicals and parts from inside POM?
From Heritage Distribution, yes — catalogue search, ordering, and order status are built in, with your markup applied as prices sync. Other suppliers connect through the inventory API.
Can my supplier’s system see what I need to reorder?
With a scoped read-only key, a supplier or purchasing tool can read your low-stock items by location and turn them into an order list — without any access to customers, invoices, or the schedule.
How do received orders get into my counts?
Post the received quantities through updateInventoryItem (with a note referencing the order), then transferInventory moves stock from the warehouse onto trucks.
Does POM track what chemicals cost me per customer?
Yes — every logged dose ties to a customer, truck, and date, so usage reports show chemical cost per customer, route, or month, exportable to CSV.
